PCF-Plastic-Clad Fiber

PCF-Plastic-Clad Fiber

Stable and simple: plastic-clad optical fiber has been on the market for many years and is remarkable for its durability and easy assembly. PCF consists of glass core and polymer cladding.

Responsiveness: it is particularly important that the cladding material has a good adhesion to the glass core, it goes without saying that the two have different expansion coefficients at high temperature.

Attenuation: PCF, like other PCS, HCS and HPCF, Lenny uses NA=0.37, as standard PCF at 605 and 850nm, showing lower attenuation. Lower attenuation enables the span to reach 500m in the POF system for 650nm and 4km in the 850nm system.

Mode dispersion: for example, the width of a standard PCF, fiber with a step index profile is greatly restricted by mode dispersion. The use of graded index fiber is the best way to solve this problem.

Extreme and speed: cracked multimode fiber with polymer cladding, ETFE buffer layer and graded index core is an ideal solution for harsh industrial communication environments that require high bandwidth. Compared with the standard multimode glass fiber with a core of 62.5 μ m, the adjusted design of PCF fiber has a positive effect on service life, mechanical impact toughness, moisture resistance and high temperature resistance.
